Assistance Center
Key Services
Advice and Assistance
International SOS assistance professionals can help with security or medical advice and assistance when travel hits a snag. The Assistance Center can help you find a medical service such as doctor, clinic or dentist and even assist in making an appointment. They can also help with common security concerns such as finding safe public or private transportation, directions when you are lost, or assistance with lost travel documents.
Emergency Support
International SOS assistance professionals can help with emergency security and medical needs. If necessary, the Assistance Center can arrange emergency medical transport and hospital admission as well as provide the linkage between the medical provider and the traveler’s insurance to make sure there is no delay in treatment.
The International SOS Assistance Center is available 24/7 from anywhere in the world when you are on BU sponsored international travel.

Member’s Portal
Key Features
TravelAdvisor
All of the pertinent information travelers need about their international travel destination before they go in an easy to follow, brief-style format. Information such as current entrance and exit requirements, required and recommended vaccinations, current crime and civil unrest risks, transportation safety, food safety, and much more is presented by TravelAdvisor.
Destination Guides
A self-guided version of the TravelAdvisor feature. BU travelers can access country and city guides for potential destinations that include security, medical and general travel advice. Information such as current entrance and exit requirements, required and recommended vaccinations, current crime and civil unrest risks, transportation safety, food safety, and much more are all available in the guides.
Email Alert Sign up
BU travelers should sign up for email alerts for their specific destination(s). These alerts can help keep travelers informed on changing potential risks at their destination(s). Travelers can customize their alerts by location, frequency, and type and change them for each trip they take.
Assistance App Access
There are instructions on how to download, set up, and use the International SOS assistance app for iPhones and Android phones. The app provides most of the same functionality as the Member’s portal but also allows users to get real-time alerts to their specific location using their phone’s GPS. For example, email alerts might warn you that there is an increased chance of typhoon related flooding in the city you are in. Alerts from the app would tell you in real time that there is flooding on the street you are currently driving down.
Contact an Assistance Center
Local medical and security experts are available 24/7 to offer advice and assistance to BU travelers. They can help with choosing a safe hotel, choosing safe transportation to and from the airport, asking questions about transporting and access to prescription medications, medical and mental health services in the vicinity of your destination, and advice or assistance on many other topics.
The International SOS Member’s Portal is an all-in-one resource for BU travelers planning an international trip.
