As Managing Director of Strategy & Communications, Amanda Miller is responsible for identifying, developing and managing opportunities of globalization in higher education in close coordination with the VP/AP. In this role, she builds collaborative connections within BU and with foreign entities, supports the efforts of special University initiatives, and supports a comprehensive internationalization strategy.
Previously Amanda was Director of Global Programs for Boston University Questrom School of Business, where she was responsible for the execution and oversight of global-related activities at Questrom and global dimensions of the BSBA and MBA curricula. Amanda is a Qualified Administrator for the Intercultural Development Inventory and has administered the IDI to over 160 Questrom faculty, staff, MBA and Undergraduate students in support of their intercultural development. Amanda began working at Boston University in 2002 as Assistant Director for the International MBA program in Japan, the MBA program she graduated from in 2000. In 2004 she transitioned the program to a two country model, integrating the International Management programs in China and Japan into one program where the students spent six weeks in each country before coming to Boston to finish their MBA. In 2007, Amanda was made the Director of the International MBA program and Professional Evening MBA programs. She has served on the MBA Program Development Committee, IMBA Program Development Committee, MBA Diversity Committee and is a member of the IMBA Alumni Board. Prior to working at Boston University, Amanda worked for an Italian consulting firm, GIA, on a case for a global retailer, and for Laura Ashley, an International retailer, in various operations and marketing roles in their North American operations.
Amanda holds a BS from Florida Institute of Technology and an MBA from Boston University. She has traveled to China, Thailand, Vietnam, India, Japan, S. Korea, England, Scotland, Wales, Belgium, France, Italy, Germany, The Netherlands, Iceland, Israel, Mexico, Jamaica, Tortola, St. Croix, St. Lucia, St. Thomas, The Bahamas and Bermuda.
