Get Oriented
Hit the ground running. Graduate orientation at Boston University prepares you for life and study in a graduate or professional school. Each school or college conducts its own orientation, but all follow a general framework to ensure the success of incoming students. You’ll learn about:
- Academics at BU, from advising to tutoring programs
- Health & Wellness and safety, including medical insurance and our Fitness & Recreation Center
- The BU community, a diverse and inclusive family
- Resources, supporting you in everything from academics and research to housing and technology, you’ll find everything you need here
- Policies and procedures, covering areas such as ethics, academic freedom, and privacy
And that’s just a start; we’re constantly expanding and refining the process. Of course, an introduction this thorough could never be covered in a traditional one-day orientation. While orientation is typically held in-person, many resources are also made available online. For details about what will be included in your orientation, please contact your school or college.
