III Colombian Conference: Building Peace – April 23-25
Please join us to launch the Harvard-MIT-BU-Tufts 2015 Colombian conference “Colombia: Building Peace” this Thursday here at BU with the screening of Juan Manuel Echavarría’s documentary Requiem N.N. followed by a round table discussion about the role of contemporary arts in symbolic reparations.
The conference promises to be an exciting event that will include the participation of Noam Chomsky, James A. Robinson (author of Why Nations Fail), Luis Carlos Villegas (the Colombian ambassador to the U.S.), Sergio Fajardo (former mayor of Medellín and vice-presidential candidate, famous for dealing with Medellin during its worse crisis in urban violence, and also running mate for Antanas Mockus), and Jesús Abad Colorado, (the most renown photojournalist of the Colombian armed conflict), among others. Conference is FREE but need to register!
