Megan Horn is a PhD student studying American art and material culture with a focus on the history of photography. In her research, she is interested in the ways photography mediates and reflects cultural relationships to objects, resources, waste, and environments in the United States during the first half of the twentieth century, especially as they pertain to shaping ideas of civic participation and identity. Prior to BU, Megan held positions at several museums including the Museum of Modern Art (NY), and was part of the curatorial team at the Newport Art Museum (RI). As the Curatorial Assistant at the Newport Art Museum, she curated exhibitions including “Dress Code,” and “Above/Below,” and co-curated the exhibition, “Social Fabric: Textiles and Contemporary Issues.”
