Mr. Ganga Ram Gautam, an Associate Professor at Tribhuvan University in Nepal, trains English teachers at all levels. His main responsibilities include teaching, supervising research and evaluating student work. As a Member of the Subject Committee, he contributes to the revision and dissemination of B. Ed. and M. Ed. curricula in English Education throughout Nepal. Mr. Gautam also designs training packages and prepares trainers for the teacher education program of the Ministry of Education.

Ganga is the President of the Nepal English Language Teachers’ Association, which he co-founded in 1992. He organizes national and international conferences and capacity building workshops for the NELTA trainers. In this role, he often collaborates with the Ministry of Education, the US Embassy, the British Council and other national and international ELT associations. Ganga designs training packages and prepares trainers for the teacher education program of the Ministry of Education.

In addition to teaching, Mr. Gautam has worked on a number of community development projects that focus on children’s education, school development, school governance, vocational education and women’s empowerment.

Ganga holds a M.Ed. in English Education from Tribhuvan University in Nepal and an MA in ELT from Lancaster University in the UK. He has presented and participated in a number of workshops, seminars and conferences in Nepal and abroad.

During his Humphrey year, Mr. Gautam learned how ESL/EFL programs are managed in multi-lingual settings and how cultural diversity is addressed in education. He also shared his rich and diverse experiences with US educators.
