Mr. Mohamed (Zack) Zakaria works as a Senior Deputy Manager in Foreign Currency funding Desk at Banque Misr, one of the largest state-owned banks in Egypt. He is responsible for handling the origination and execution of International Loans and facilities granted to the Bank, in addition to managing and monitoring the funding portfolio of over USD 5 billion, handling relationship with more than 50 counterparts, ranging from commercial banks to multilateral development financial institutions, he successfully handled the negotiation and execution of many funding deals in favor of Banque Misr.

During his fellowship year, Mr. Zakaria plans to acquire the academic knowledge related to Economics, Financial Institutions and Financial Markets and their relation to achieving sustainable development and growth in Developing countries such as Egypt. He hopes to learn from the hands of experts on aspects of international Loan market and Loan documentation and how to effectively approach and manage different funding structures, in addition, he aims to acquire the interpersonal skills needed to effectively communicate and negotiate with foreign counterparts during meetings, conference calls, presentations, and roadshows, and to be able to tell a good story about his organization, his country, and their potentials.

His objectives are to build and manage a team of professionals responsible for handling the foreign currency loan proposals to the bank, to contribute to the education of young banking professionals in the Egyptian Banking sector, for the purpose of achieving sustainable development in Egypt.

Mr. Zakaria graduated in 2007 from Faculty of Commerce, English section, at Benha University, and he is currently working on becoming a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), where he successfully passed Level I Exam. And currently Level II candidate.
