Dr. Rabiul Hossain is a Joint Director of Bangladesh Bank (The Central Bank of Bangladesh). He works in the foreign exchange policy department, more specifically for the foreign exchange market and large import monitoring section. Previously, he worked for the foreign exchange reserve and treasury management department and internal audit department of Bangladesh Bank. With around 9 years of service in central bank, Dr. Hossain has extensive experience in working with foreign exchange related policies, exchange rate management, dollar crisis issues, reserve management, sovereign rating of Bangladesh, import monitoring, auditing several departments and offices of Bangladesh Bank, swap agreements with different central banks, and exchange position of scheduled banks in Bangladesh. He is also an independent researcher and a freelance column writer in the national dailies of Bangladesh. He possesses a lot of research papers published in distinguished international journals.

During his Humphrey Fellowship program at Boston University, Dr. Rabiul plans to enhance his knowledge and professional skills in exchange rate policies, federal fund rate policies and its impact on world economy and the impact of digital finance and digital currencies on developing nations. He intends to serve Bangladesh economy which is facing multiple challenges during the post-Covid era and Russia-Ukraine war with proper policy measures in the financial arena gained through academic and professional exposures in Humphrey fellowship.

Dr. Rabiul Hossain holds a PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) degree in International Economics from University of International Business and Economics (UIBE), Beijing, China. He obtained his BBA and MBA degree with major in Marketing from University of Dhaka, Dhaka, Bangladesh. He is in the final stage of securing the Certified Digital Finance Practitioner (CDFP) degree issued by the Digital Frontiers Institute (DFI).
