SAIL Collaborated with Pacesetters Initiative to Solve Spending Data Problem in Businesses
The Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce recently released a report called “2018 Pacesetters Impact Report” for Pacesetters Initiative. In the report, the Software & Application Innovation Lab (SAIL) at Boston University’s Hariri Institute for Computing is mentioned, who supports Pacesetters with data collecting process.
Pacesetters Initiative is a program of Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce (GBCC), which is an independent nonprofit business association representing nearly every size, sector, industry and profession in the Greater Boston business community. As part of GBCC, Pacesetters Initiative gathers member organizations with their collective purchasing power to create opportunities for businesses. Regarding the sensitive nature of the spending data being an important factor in the businesses, SAIL works with Pacesetters on deploying a new data analysis approach to collect spending data for Pacesetters.
The Software & Application Innovation Lab (SAIL) is a professional software design and development lab that provides researchers with professional software development capacity in support of projects that require cutting-edge solutions. The area of the projects SAIL supports varies from health to cultural difference. Regarding the Pacesetters project, SAIL develops a web-based data aggregation platform that relies on a set of cryptographic techniques called secure multi-party computation (MPC) to guarantee both the confidentiality of data and the anonymity of users.
The Software & Application Innovation Lab (SAIL) was launched in 2014 by the Hariri Institute for Computing at Boston University, where it’s mission is to promote discovery and innovations through the use of computational and data-driven approaches.
