Bobak Nazer Honored with the 2024 Gerald and Deanne Gitner Family Award for Innovation in Teaching with Technology

Bobak Nazer, an associate professor of electrical & computer engineering, received the prestigious Gerald and Deanne Gitner Family Award for Innovation in Teaching with Technology (2024).  This university-wide teaching award recognizes innovative use, development or adaptation of technology that yields positive learning outcomes for undergraduate students, and is recognized or adopted by faculty within or external to BU.

Nazer was recognized for overhauling a complex required engineering course – Probability, Statistics, and Data Science for Engineers.  He recorded and narrated 49 engaging short videos that broke down these complex concepts with animated text and illustrations and with varying speed markers for concepts, definitions, and examples to maintain student attention.
