AI and Education Initiative Events

The AI and Education Initiative hosts a number of engaging events aimed to continue the conversation about AI’s social contexts and implications in education. Events include:

  • NEW Human and Machine Learning Lunch Series: An informal lunch series that welcomes and gathers scholars from various disciplines across the university to discuss research at the intersection of AI and learning by sharing insights from published projects, seeking feedback on planned studies, and fostering a collaborative environment for advancing knowledge in AI and learning.   • AI and Education Symposium: This most recent symposium took place on November 30, 2024 at the Boston University Duan Family Center for Computing and Data Sciences. The symposium provided a forum to gather fresh perspectives on the future of education in the context of emerging AI technologies from researchers, policy-makers, and industry leaders.   • The Implications of Generative AI (ChatGPT) in Education: Naomi Caselli, PhD, Director of the AI and Education Initiative and an assistant professor of deaf education at Wheelock College hosted a workshop on October 6, 2024 about proactively preparing for changes in AI and education.
