Defne Abur is a Ph.D. student in the College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at Boston University. She received a B.S. in Engineering Science from Smith College with a concentration in Biomathematics, where she performed research in hearing sciences and middle ear acoustics. As a graduate student in Dr. Cara Stepp’s Sensorimotor Rehabilitation Engineering lab, her research focuses on examining auditory factors in speech and using neurocomputational models to interpret disruptions to the speech motor control pathway for speakers with motor speech disorders.
