Hiba Kobeissi

Hiba Kobeissi is a Ph.D. student in Mechanical Engineering at Boston University. She received her BE in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Biomedical Engineering and ME in Mechanical Engineering from the American University of Beirut (AUB). Prior to joining Boston University to pursue her doctoral studies, Hiba was an instructor in the Mechanical Engineering department at AUB. Her research interests are primarily in computational mechanics and computational biomechanics, in specific. As a graduate student in Prof. Emma Lejeune’s lab, Hiba focuses on combining machine learning tools and computational methods to understand and characterize the behavior of highly heterogeneous soft tissue, with applications on cardiac tissue.
