PhD Student | Chinese literary and intellectual history; Global Christianity, Digital Humanities

Greta Rauch Frei entered the PhD program in 2022 and is advised by Dr. Eugenio Menegon. She received a BS in Computer Science along with a supplemental major in Chinese from the University of Notre Dame. Her research focuses on the intersection of Christianity, literary culture, and social change in China during the 20th century, especially during the late Qing and Republican periods. She leverages her technical training to advance digital scholarship and explore how computational methods can enhance the process of historical inquiry.
