Leaving for Study Abroad
Fall Semester
BU Study Abroad will notify BU Housing of your program participation. Housing will be cancelled for students who have submitted a Residence License Agreement and the Housing Guarantee Payment will be transferred to a tuition deposit for fall semester.
This process must be completed prior to the fall semester housing cancellation deadline published in the Terms and Conditions of the Residence License Agreement.
Spring Semester
BU Study Abroad will notify BU Housing of your program participation and you will be released from your Residence License Agreement.
In its written response, the Housing Committee will provide students with detailed checkout procedures and information about reserving on-campus housing for the semester they return to the Charles River Campus.
Students leaving for spring semester Boston University study abroad or internship programs must move out of their on-campus residences and complete the checkout procedures prior to the end of the fall semester.
Spring housing and dining charges will remain posted on students’ accounts until checkout procedures are complete. However, students may deduct these charges when they make payment to settle their student accounts by the spring semester settlement deadline.
