All traditional and suite-style residences will close on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at noon for intersession break. All campus dining halls will close on Friday, December 20, 2024, following dinner.
Intersession Break Housing is available to residential students who reside in traditional or suite-style housing for both the fall and spring semesters. The University has made arrangements with a local hotel to accommodate students at a subsidized rate of $65 per person per night (in double and triple occupancy rooms). Apartment-style residences, and 33 Harry Agganis Way, will remain open throughout the intersession break.
How to Apply for Intersession Break Housing
The Intersession Break Housing Application will be available at 9:00 am on Friday, November 1, 2024. Students may apply by completing the Intersession Break Housing Application in the My Housing Portal before 5 PM on Monday, December 2, 2024. Cancellation requests are submitted via email and are subject to the same deadlines. BU Housing will confirm receipt of applications or cancellations via email.

Check-in will start at 4:00 pm on your approved arrival date. Room keys will be issued to students at the hotel front desk when they arrive; the front desk staff will not give out room numbers to anyone other than the registered guest. Students must present their Terrier Card at the hotel front desk to check-in and should carry their Terrier Card with them at all times. Students must depart by noon on their approved check-out date and return their keys to the hotel front desk.
All Boston University rules and regulations, as outlined in the Boston University Lifebook, are in effect at the hotel. A Boston University Resident Assistant (RA) will be on duty each night at the hotel in case of emergencies. If the RA is not in their room, please contact the hotel’s front desk. No visitors and no overnight guests are permitted in the hotel rooms.
