The Howard Coon House is a row house built in 1895 by Samuel D. Kelley, an architect prolific in the Back Bay and surrounding areas. The design combines Queen Anne, Georgian, and Romanesque Revival styles. You can see other BU residences designed by Kelley along Beacon Street at 822, 832, 850, 853, 856, 906, and 908, and at 90 St. Mary’s Street.
The Coon House is located in BU’s South Campus, a tranquil, private neighborhood that features a mix of families, young professionals, and BU neighbors. Central campus is right over the BU Bridge, while a short walk across Beacon Street puts you in the Fenway area. Nearby, you’ll find groceries, restaurants, shops, and more. South sits between the B- and C-lines, giving you great access to the rest of Boston.
Off-campus feel, on-campus convenience: South Campus has it all!
