Parental and Medical-related Leaves

Parental Leave

Parental Leave benefits provide two weeks of leave at 100% of pay, and another ten weeks of leave at the State maximum benefit of $1,170.64 per week in 2025. The benefit is available to any parent to bond with a newly-arrived child, whether through birth, adoption, foster care or surrogacy.

If you are a parent who gives birth, you are entitled to both a Personal Medical Leave and Parental Leave. These two leaves, combined, provide up to 26 weeks of paid leave, depending on your personal medical condition related to childbirth.

If your condition extends beyond that time, you can take up to another 12 weeks of leave at 67% of your total compensation up to the IRS limit. This limit is $350,000 in 2025.

If you need to take leave for a family member’s medical needs, you can receive 100% of total compensation for up to 2 weeks. If the need extends beyond that time, you can take up to another 10 weeks of leave at the State maximum benefit of $1,170.64 per week in 2025.
