Parental and Medical-related Leaves
Parental Leave
Parental Leave benefits provide 100% of pay for up to 26 weeks for the birthing parent.
In addition, parents are eligible for bonding leave for 14 consecutive weeks of full relief which may also be taken in a one semester increment or 28 weeks of half relief which may also be taken in two semester increments from all obligations within a 6 month period.
The benefit is available to any parent to bond with a newly-arrived child, whether through birth, adoption, foster care or surrogacy.
If you are a parent who gives birth, you are entitled to Birthing Leave, additional Personal Medical Leave depending on your personal medical condition as well as Parental Leave. Birthing and Personal Medical Leave, combined, may provide up to 26 weeks of paid leave, or more, depending on your personal medical condition related to childbirth.
Note: Maximum paid time off is, in general, 26 weeks within any 12-month period for any combination of personal medical and family leaves. Appropriate medical documentation is required to support Childbirth Leave, family and personal medical leaves.

Medical-related Leaves
If you need to take leave for your own serious health condition, injury, or childbirth, Paid Family and Medical Leave provides 100% of base pay for up to 26 weeks. The amount of leave granted depends on your condition, as determined by the Leave Administrator in consultation with your medical providers.
If you need to take leave for a family member’s medical needs, Paid Family and Medical leave provides 100% of base pay for up to 12 weeks.
It’s important to note the maximum paid time off is, in general, 26 weeks within a 12-month period for any combination of personal medical and family leaves.
