Experience BU

Boston University is more than a workplace—it’s a community. And when you’d like to get involved here on campus, there’s something for everybody:

Agganis Arena: You’ll find more than athletic events here—check out the events, concerts, family shows, and more.

Alternative Service Breaks: Alternative Service Breaks promotes community service, develops leadership skills, and creates strong bonds among its participants. Read about amazing trips taken by program participants, or get involved as a volunteer or chaperone.

BU Arts Initiative: The Arts Initiative supports faculty, student, and staff arts projects, making sure the arts are deeply embedded within the cultural and intellectual fabric of the University. Be sure to check their frequently updated Events Calendar to get involved.

BU Athletics: Attend a game and cheer on our nationally ranked Terrier athletic teams.

BU Today: The University’s daily online news publication helps you stay in touch with the latest at BU. Browse campus news, information about upcoming events, and your colleagues’ achievements and activities.

Boston Playwrights’ Theatre: Founded in 1981 by Nobel Laureate Derek Walcott, this award-winning, professional theater is part of Boston University’s Graduate Creative Writing Department.

Boston University Women’s Guild: This woman-to-woman organization provides the women of BU with a forum to discuss topics of common interest and the opportunity to meet women from across the University.

College of Fine Arts: Home to talented undergraduate and graduate students, CFA holds music, theater, and visual art exhibitions throughout the year.

FitRec Center:  FitRec offers hundreds of classes and facilities you won’t find elsewhere, including aerial dance, rock climbing, and one of the best competition pools in Boston. Memberships available for BU faculty, staff and their families.

Student Organizations: Faculty and staff are invited to become a student organization advisor for one of BU’s nearly 500 student organizations. From community service to club sports, advising allows you to share your talents and explore new interests.

BU Sustainability: Recognized as a Green University by the Princeton Review, BU is reducing its environmental footprint; you can be a part of this movement, too. Get involved with Green Office Certification in your workspace, support recycling efforts in your area, or become a Sustainability Liaison. Read more about the Green Office Certification here.
