Ali Gold, Communications and Events Specialist with the Boston University Institute for Global Sustainability (IGS), develops compelling outreach materials and programs to engage key audiences with the Institute’s work. Gold is driven to make scientific research accessible and has a strong background in creating effective and actionable scientific communications.

Prior to joining IGS, in her role at Verge Scientific Communications, Gold supported a wide range of life and space science organizations in developing and sharing their stories. She previously completed science communication internships at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, MIT School of Science, and NYU Langone Health, sharing each institution’s science with the public through written and multimedia storytelling and social media.

Gold holds an MS in Science Writing from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a BA in Psychological and Brain Sciences with minors in Writing and Design from Washington University in St. Louis.
