Submission Instructions

Please note: Submissions for the Spring & Summer 2024 publication cycle may be submitted beginning March 2023 until about September 2023.

The Boston University International Law Journal encourages practicing attorneys and law professors to submit scholarly works on current issues in international law.

We strongly encourage the electronic submission of article manuscripts via Scholastica services.  We look at submissions made to Scholastica first.

Articles will also be accepted via the email listed below. All manuscript submissions should include a short abstract describing the substance of the article.  The ILJ also encourages authors to submit a CV and cover letter along with their article manuscripts.  Footnotes should conform to The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (21st ed. 2020) and should appear at the bottom of each page.


The ILJ Board will notify you if your article is under review.  Please do not email to inquire whether your submission has been received.  After completing its review, the ILJ Board will notify you if your article has been selected for publication.
