CAM was first established as a nursing school and hospital in 1980. Since then it has expanded to include colleges of medicine, post-graduate studies, physiotherapy, and medical laboratory technology. In 2008, CAM established Central Research Services to oversee the research conducted in the hospital and medical program. CAM also provides resources to the surrounding community through the Extension Programmes Department.

Through its active role in this collaboration, CAM exemplifies its commitment to providing high quality healthcare service to underserved and rural regions of Gujarat, India . BU’s involvement in IROI is a reflection of an interest in expanding its ‘global footprint’ and making a positive impact worldwide.
