Carolyn Marar (ENG'23,'25), a Summer Accelerator alum and founder of Nervara, has won a 2026 BU Ignition Award for a drug-free approach to knee pain. Nervara is developing a tiny, biodegradable implant that can be injected without surgery and uses microwaves to quiet selected nerves, aimed at patients who still struggle with pain after knee replacement.
