In partnership with MassChallenge HealthTech, the Entrepreneurial Internship provide students with hands-on experiences with some of the world’s most promising digital health ventures.
MassChallenge HealthTech is an annual, six-month program and competition that matches payors, providers, pharmaceutical companies, government agencies, and more with qualified early-stage digital health ventures, in efforts to improve and accelerate innovative outcomes.

2020 MassChallenge Entrepreneurship Internship – Healthtech Ventures
January to May part-time (10-20 hours/week)
Solving the systematic, regulatory and bureaucratic challenges that entrepreneurs face when innovating in tech often requires collaboration and coordination across myriad private and public institutions. In response to these challenges, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the City of Boston, MassChallenge and a host of private enterprises launched MassChallenge HealthTech (MCHT), a digital health accelerator (previously PULSE@MassChallenge). The MCHT program is an annual, six-month program and competition which matches payors, providers, pharmaceutical companies, government agencies, etc. with qualified early-stage digital health ventures, in efforts to improve and accelerate innovative outcomes. In concert with MCHT, Boston University has collaborated to create an elite MBA internship program. Accepted interns are invited to join the MCHT team during the program to help entrepreneurs meet their goals and accelerate progress during the course of the program.
As an Entrepreneurship Intern, you will report to the Program Manager at MCHT. You will work with the individual startup members of the 2019 MCHT cohort. This position will enable you to learn from multiple stakeholders of the startup and innovation ecosystem as well as exciting startups from across the country.
As part of the program, accepted Boston University MBAs will drive thought leadership and support the MCHT member startups by working with one specific startup consistently throughout the accelerator in the following ways:
- Accelerate and ensure startups set and meet key goals and milestones with MCHT partners and Champions
- Aid startups in refining their business ideas and strategies
- Design case studies of key startups to further development of the Boston area digital health ecosystem
- Act as a liaison between startup and MCHT senior staff
To apply for the MassChallenge HealthTech internship program, you must be:
- A current Boston University student pursuing a graduate degree in one of the following areas: Business, Engineering, Public Health, Data Science, or another related field
- Comfortable working on tight deadlines
- Knowledge of healthcare industries a plus
- Previous experience working for or starting a startup
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- You are well-versed in technology like: Macs, PCs, Microsoft Office, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Eventbrite and custom web applications and (You don’t need to be an expert in all of these platforms, but you need to be competent enough with technology to learn new software quickly)
