IOC’s First External Advisory Board
The Initiative on Cities is proud to present our first External Advisory Board. Our board, made up of leading city officials, urban scholars, and other experts, will provide counsel to the IOC’s staff about emerging trends and issues and the Initiative’s priorities.
The Initiative on Cities is a university-wide effort, drawing on the breadth of Boston University’s research talent, helping to focus faculty and student attention on the most pressing urban challenges, and building bridges to cities, city networks, and thought leaders. We are particularly focused on the urban environment, equity and inclusion, and the vital role that mayoral leadership plays in effecting positive change.
Members of our External Advisory Board are Jamie Alderslade, Andrea Coleman, Luis Fraga, Bruce Katz, Pam Kocher, Alan Leventhal, Virginia Mayer, George “Mac” McCarthy, David Miller, Cathy Minehan, Michael Nutter, and Ryan Whalen.
We admire each of our board member’s commitment to inclusiveness and to bettering communities. They have been instrumental in addressing some of society’s greatest challenges, and understand the role that think tanks and universities can play in devising solutions. We look forward to learning from our board members and to hearing their insights as we shape the future of the Initiative.
