Date: Thursday, November 2, 2023 Time: 5:30 pm-7:00 pm ET Location: Innovate@BU BUild Lab 730 Commonwealth Avenue, Boston Join Innovate@BU and the Initiative on Cities for a discussion with former Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker and his former Chief of Staff Steve Kadish on their book, Results: Getting Beyond Politics to Get Important Work Done. Results is essentially a manual for government and business leaders to turn to for results-oriented problem-solving. With a broad range of examples – that span everything from rural broadband access to reforms of the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families, to the COVID-19 pandemic – Baker, a Republican, and Kadish, a Democrat, show how to move from identifying problems to achieving results in a way that bridges divide instead of exacerbating them. They show how government can be an engine of positive change and an example of effective operation, not just a hopeless bureaucracy. Innovate@BU Executive Director Siobhan Dullea will moderate the discussion and Q&A. Following the talk, Governor Baker will be available for a book signing with attendees – and the first 50 attendees will receive a free copy of the book!
