As an International Student Advisor, Justin Balcourt advises international students on the U.S. visa and immigration system. Prior to joining Global Programs, Justin worked as Assistant Director of the American Language & Culture Institute at Clark University and was a contracted proctor for Duolingo. Justin has also worked as an ESL instructor for Clark University’s China programs and ELS Educational Services, as well as a German language instructor. He has been a guest instructor at Kindai University in Osaka, Japan and has experience in the International Student’s Office at the Paedagogische Hochschule Ludwigsburg in Germany.

Justin holds a Masters in Linguistics from Newcastle University and Bachelor of Arts in German Language and Literature from Hunter College. Justin studied abroad in Ludwigsburg, Germany during his time in undergrad and went on to attain his graduate degree in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. He has been lucky to see a number of new countries and places along the way, and is always interested in seeing more.
