Venessa Odera
CAS ‘26 Political Science
Hi! My name is Venessa Odera (she/her). I am originally from Kenya and was raised in Plano, Texas. I’m a sophomore in the College of Arts and Sciences, on the BA/MA track majoring in Political Science and minoring in Public Policy.
At BU, I am involved in the Student Food Rescue, Strong Women Strong Girls, and I am the Community Service Chair for the Sigma Delta Tau sorority. I also work on the PR team for the Center for Career Development, so hopefully, I will pop up on your For You Page sometime. Outside of school, I like to unwind a bit by going to concerts, trying new foods, and watching new Netflix documentaries.
As an out-of-state student who had never stepped foot on the East Coast until move-in day, Kilachand has allowed me to form bonds with students not only from diverse walks of life but also from different majors and career paths. The intersection of experiences in the Kilachand courses has fostered insightful discussions in an innovative, welcoming environment.
