Applications due in two weeks! Stanford FoCUS Conference for Students on US-Mexico Relations (10.13.2018)
We are representatives from the U.S.-Mexico Forum for Cooperation, Understanding, and Solidarity (FoCUS), a program organized jointly by Stanford University, Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) and Tecnológico de Monterrey (ITESM) and we are reaching out to you to share a fantastic opportunity to get involved in our initiative and we hope that you will pass it along to students.
US-Mex FoCUS is dedicated to promoting positive U.S.-Mexico relations by fostering communication and mutual understanding among future leaders. Our goal is to create a network of students who are already addressing social, political, economic or technological issues; and bring them together to discuss and create proposals with the potential to influence bilateral affairs. We are seeking to assemble a diverse group of young leaders from across the United States and Mexico to connect at our biannual summits in Silicon Valley and Mexico City.
Each year, FoCUS offers 30 outstanding students across many disciplines the opportunity to collaborate in a series of exciting programs in preparation for the summits, where they will have access to mentorship and opportunities to advance their innovative proposals. This a great opportunity to network with high-profile speakers, politicians, business leaders and other students. Previous FoCUS summits have included talks from Mexican government officials, U.S. senators, and CEOs. In addition, students will visit these top-tier universities where much research in these areas is already taking place. Furthermore, FoCUS is committed to extending this opportunity, regardless of applicants’ ability to pay.
You can visit our website for more information about the summit, our organization, and the application. Applications are due October 13th. In addition, feel free to contact us at info@usmexfocus.org for any questions.
