Congratulations, Dr. Bianconi, the Leadership Award Winner!

We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Celia Bianconi (Romance Studies) has won the 2022-2023 AOTP – American Organization of Teachers of Portuguese Award in the category of Leadership. This is a distinction awarded by Portuguese instructors in the United States, and Dr. Bianconi’s work has been singled out as a model. The nominations cited her work with Portuguese program building, community engagement, service to national organizations, and the professional activities she has developed regarding research and Portuguese teachers training, with impacts beyond Boston University and Massachusetts.

Dr. Bianconi will receive her award at the XII EMEP – Encontro Mundial sobre o Ensino de Português on August 4th and 5th at Northwestern University, Chicago, IL during a ceremony on the evening of August 4th.
