Timothy Hatfield (’12) promoted to partner at Stoel Rives

Stoel Rives LLP, an Am Law 200 law firm, is pleased to announce that Timothy Hatfield (’12) and Melissa Healy became new partners of the firm effective Jan. 1, 2020. Along with nine other attorneys in the firm’s Boise, Minneapolis, Salt Lake City, and Seattle offices who recently became partners, Hatfield and Healy are focused on client value and innovation, which are keystones of Stoel Rives’ corporate culture and commitment to excellence.

Hatfield is a dedicated health care attorney who helps his clients deliver innovative health care products and services in a complex and ever-changing regulatory environment. He has particular expertise in health fraud and abuse, insurance regulation, and Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement. Hatfield represents clients in disputes with state and federal administrative agencies and advises health care entities regarding internal investigations and self-disclosures.

Hatfield is active in the health care community. He writes frequently for the Health Law Insider blog and is the board chair of Project Access Now, a nonprofit organization focused on improving access to care for low income and uninsured people. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Kenyon College and a law degree from Boston University School of Law.

Healy represents employers in all areas of labor and employment law. She has significant litigation experience and has first- or second-chaired more than 15 jury trials and arbitrations. She has a strong traditional labor background and regularly represents employers in discharge and contract interpretation arbitrations and before the National Labor Relations Board.

“I bring a broad range of experience to clients seeking labor and employment advice,” said Healy. “As a partner, I hope to continue helping clients proactively with training and advice that allows them to create front-end solutions for their businesses.”

Healy is a contributing editor for The Developing Labor Law and the treasurer of Oregon Southwest Washington Industry Liaison Group. She is a volunteer attorney for Stoel Rives’ Pro Bono Night Clinic and U.S. District of Oregon Pro Bono Program. Named among Oregon Super Lawyers since 2013, she holds a bachelor’s degree from University of Oregon and a law degree from University of Arizona.
