Parking & Public Transportation
Parking
For detailed information on location of lots, please visit the BU Parking and transportation site. A special Commencement site will be made live later this Spring.
Traffic along Commonwealth Avenue can become heavily congested, and long delays should be expected. Parking spaces in West Campus can be difficult to find on Sunday in the late morning. You are strongly encouraged to arrive early, park your vehicle close to your last venue of the day, and move about campus by foot, MBTA, or shuttle.
For those who must drive to campus, most parking lots and garages will be open and available free of charge throughout the weekend. The best parking lot for parking for the Law Commencement is the Agganis Arena garage, located at 925 Commonwealth Ave. All parking will be free on the day of commencement.
General commencement parking will not be allowed in the Langsam Garage (278 Babcock Street) on Sunday, May 17th, as this is reserved for handicapped parking. After 6:00 am, Babcock Street will not be accessible to general traffic.
Disability Parking
All lots throughout BU have accessible parking for those with disabilities.
Disability parking spaces in the Agganis Arena and Langsam garage are available on a first-come, first-served basis and require disability plates or placards. A BU permit is not required.
A BU permit is required for disability parking for the All-University Commencement ceremony. Parking requests can be made via the Disability Accommodations Request Form, which will be live on April 1st. Please note that this parking is reserved for guests who require wheelchair accessibility to Nickerson Field. Guests with other mobility issues should contact parking services for additional information.
Public Transportation
Due to the anticipated traffic on Commonwealth Avenue during Commencement Weekend, you are urged to use public transportation. Check the MBTA site for maps and schedules, or use their trip planner.
The closest subway stop to the Track and Tennis Center is Babcock Street Station on the Green Line’s B “Boston College” Line.
For additional details, please visit the MBTA ‘s website.
BU Shuttle Service
Free shuttle service between Kenmore Square and the Track & Tennis Center will operate during the weekend. This Commencement Weekend shuttle will offer the most convenient method of transportation around campus.
