GTP Final Exam Schedule Acknowledgement

GTP Final Exam Schedule Acknowledgement

  • All students must take their final exams in accordance with the published final exam schedule. Additionally, all students are responsible for reviewing the instructions for taking both timed and take-home exams prior to the start of the exam period and proactively communicating any questions to the GTP.

Students may reschedule a timed final exam that is part of a schedule of:

    • three exams in three consecutive 24 hour periods
    • four exams in four consecutive 24 hours periods
    • two exams in the same 24 hour period

Requests to reschedule an exam due to one of the scheduling conflicts outlined above must be sent in writing to the GTP by Monday, December 6. Take-home exams cannot be rescheduled.

Requests for exam relief for reasons other than a schedule conflict must be submitted to the GTP in writing as soon as possible, and prior to date of the exam. The Program Director may consider the student's failure to make a timely request as grounds for denying such a request. Requests related to illness or medical emergencies must include a supporting statement from the student's physician. Any requests made after an exam window has opened must be reviewed by the Graduate Tax Program Committee.

Failure to take an exam at the scheduled or rescheduled time, or failure to submit a take-home exam or paper on time, will be excused only where the student's failure was caused by serious illness or other compelling causes beyond the student's control.

Students who fail to take a timed exam on time, or to submit a take-home exam on time, will receive a failing grade of F on the exam and will receive no credit for the course. However, the Graduate Tax Program Committee may, in its discretion, allow the student to take and submit the exam, provided that the student does so immediately. A grade penalty will be imposed that reflects both the student's fault and any benefit the student might have obtained from the delay.

To maintain the anonymity of the grading process, all requests for rescheduling, regardless of the reason, must be submitted to the Graduate Tax Program and NOT the student's professor.
