Course Planner Tool

Plan your next year at BU Law

BU Law’s new course planner will help you consider different scenarios and evaluate options as you prepare to register for the upcoming academic year.

The tool allows you to filter courses by topic, instructor, day, time, and more, and to compile possible course schedules to see what may work best for you. Sample schedules may be saved and printed so you can discuss with faculty and advisors before finalizing your registration.

It is important to note that the course planner does not replace the standard registration process. You still should thoroughly review all information you receive from BU Law’s registrar’s office and follow the registration instructions they provide.

A Few Reminders

  • This tool does not register you for classes. You should still register on the MyBU Student Portal.
  • Review course descriptions for any NOTICES or PREREQUISITES. This tool may not accurately filter for the CR/NC option.
  • No single course can be used to fulfill more than one of the degree requirements listed (experiential learning, professional responsibility, or upper class writing).
  • Courses can not have overlapping or conflicting times.
  • Students should be certain to pay attention to any announcements the Registrar’s Office makes regarding course updates.
  • Please email lawweb@bu.edu with any technical questions or concerns with the planner tool.

Some class schedules are not set yet and may not show in the tool.

Tool Tips

  • The planner is best viewed on desktop, laptop, or tablet devices.
  • To remove the “arranged” courses from the list, choose the filter and select Monday-Friday as options.
  • “Save the Plan” saves an ics file to your downloads folder. When you want to work on the plan again, you can import it back into the tool and pick up where you had left off. Saved files are not connected to your login, they need to be downloaded to your device to save.
