Professor Tsai and Dean Chemerinsky will discuss Professor Tsai’s book, Demand the Impossible, in which he traces Stephen Bright’s remarkable career as a civil rights litigator representing individuals facing the death penalty, advocating for legal representation for poor people accused of crimes, and challenging inhumane conditions in prisons and jails. Professor Tsai’s book explores the legal ideas that were central to Bright’s relentless pursuit of equal justice.
