Study Spaces

The Fineman & Pappas Law Libraries offer three zones of study spaces to accommodate different needs: Collaborative, Considerate, and Silent.

Collaborative: Talking is expected in these spaces, but users should still be respectful of others. Considerate: Brief, quiet talking is acceptable, but users should be mindful of those around them. Silent: No talking is allowed and there is an expectation of total, uninterrupted silence.

Each zone is labeled with color coded signage. Study spaces are spread across all 3 levels of the law libraries: the Mezzanine, 2nd Floor, and 3rd Floor. While the Fineman & Pappas Law Libraries are open to all members of the Boston University community, some spaces within the library are behind swipe access and only accessible to current Boston University School of Law students, faculty, and staff.
