Biography

As Associate Director of Equity, Inclusion, & Engagement, Amber oversees student-focused initiatives and programming to support diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging at BU Law. This includes welcoming historically underrepresented students to the BU Law community through pre-orientation programs such as Be Yourself Orientation (BYO) and directly advising the Law School’s 12 affinity groups. Amber also supervises the Student Affairs Equity Fellows, who innovate and support initiatives that are highly responsive to the law school community’s needs.

Prior to this role, Amber began her journey at Boston University in 2018 as the Development and Alumni Relations Coordinator for Wheelock College of Education & Human Development. During this time, she served as co-chair of BU Development & Alumni Relations’ Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee and vice-chair of BU Wheelock’s Staff Assembly. In 2020, she transitioned to being the project manager for BU’s inaugural Office of the Senior Diversity Officer, where she managed administrative operations, budgets, events, committee logistics, and special projects/initiatives.

Amber earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Gordon College and her Master of Education in Educational Policy & Leadership Studies with a concentration in Higher Education Administration at Wheelock College of Education & Human Development. Before pursuing a career in higher education, she dedicated time as a community organizer, developing social justice curricula and pedagogy to support youth-led causes. Outside of her professional pursuits, you can find her exploring independent bookstores, caring for her 30+ house plants, or indulging at local eateries, all in her hometown of Boston.
