Biography

Eron Hackshaw is the Director for Public Service and Pro Bono in the Career Development & Public Service Office at Boston University School of Law. In this capacity he advises law students and alumni on all aspects of career planning and career development; designs and delivers programming to expose students to legal employers and the legal practice; and manages pipeline development and outreach for government and public interest legal employers. He is also the assigned CDO liaison to a number of student groups.

Eron also currently serves as a Commissioner on the Massachusetts State Ethics Commission. Appointed by Attorney General Maura Healy, Eron serves as one of five Commissioners with oversight to this independent state agency that administers and enforces the provisions of the conflict of interest law and financial disclosure law.

Eron is a trained and certified Mediator and has mediated with the Harvard Law School Mediation Program, serving as Court Liaison for the Small Claims session in Chelsea District Court as well as a Community Mediator in the Roxbury Division,

Boston Municipal Court. Eron’s other dispute resolution related activities include prior service on the Massachusetts Bar Association’s Dispute Resolution Section Council as well as the board for the New England Association for Conflict Resolution (NEACR).

Eron is an active member of the Massachusetts Black Lawyers Association and has served on several committees, including the Marketing and Technology Committee, Programs Committee and the Gala Committee. Eron’s community service also includes serving on the Editorial Board for the Boston Bar Association Journal; serving as a steward for Bethel AME Church in Jamaica Plain; serving as an incorporator and director of Boston Kids Comics Foundation; and prior service on the board of Cambridge Symphony Orchestra as part of the Personnel Committee and Board Governance Committee.
