Biography

Stephanie Paré Sullivan is Acting Director of the Transactional Law Program and a Visiting Lecturer at Boston University School of Law. Stephanie joined the School of Law in 2025, after a twenty-seven-year career in law and business operations. 

Stephanie most recently served as Managing Director, Chief Operating Officer, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at Charlesbank Capital Partners, a private equity investment firm. At Charlesbank, Stephanie managed business operations, led the legal and compliance teams and partnered with senior leadership on strategic decision-making, governance and growth initiatives. 

Before Charlesbank, Stephanie served as Managing Director, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at THL Credit, a credit investment firm previously affiliated with Thomas H. Lee Partners and now operating as First Eagle Alternative Credit. At THL Credit, Stephanie was a member of the executive management team. She served as the chief legal officer for strategic initiatives, firm governance, capital raises, capital markets transactions, public company reporting and regulatory matters. 

Earlier in her career, Stephanie was an intern, associate and then partner at the law firm of Goodwin Procter. At Goodwin, Stephanie represented private equity, venture capital and hedge fund firms in early-stage, growth and later-stage investments, and was active in firm leadership initiatives in mentoring, hiring and training. 

Since 2024, Stephanie has also taught Securities Regulation as an Adjunct at New England School of Law.  Stephanie has also recently been a student herself, obtaining her Master in Design Studies at Boston Architectural College. Her master’s thesis was titled, Intentional Release: Managing the Foreseeable Loss of Historic and Cultural Resources as a Result of Natural Forces. Stephanie serves on the Board of Directors of the Center For Women in Enterprise, an organization that helps women business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs launch and grow their businesses. She is a former coach and manager of youth robotics, basketball and soccer teams. Stephanie is the mother of three adult children, and lives with her husband outside Boston.
