Boston University School of Law Noted Among Top Schools for Producing “Super Lawyers”
The National Jurist ranking considers percentage of alumni who are designated Super Lawyers.
The National Jurist recently ranked Boston University School of Law 9th for the total number of Super Lawyers and 16th for percentage of alumni named Super Lawyers.
Every year, Super Lawyers magazine selects lawyers from different fields of law in each state who, through peer nominations and independent research, are named “Super Lawyers.” This year, National Jurist identified Super Lawyers by alma mater to determine which law schools have the greatest number of alumni named to the list. To determine the ranking, the magazine “compared the number of Super Lawyers per school with an estimate for the number of alumni per school.” The ranking also includes “Rising Stars,” attorneys under the age of 40 or practicing law for fewer than 10 years.
Earlier this year, the National Jurist ranked BU Law 15th in the country for large firm hiring, based on hiring of recent graduates and alumni holding partner positions. Of the School’s Class of 2014 graduates, 34.7 percent are employed in firms with more than 101 attorneys. BU Law has consistently ranked highly among law schools known for large firm employment. The National Law Journal recently ranked the School 19th in a survey of law schools whose graduates obtained positions with the nation’s 250 largest law firms, placing it among the publication’s “Go-To” Law Schools.
“There are BU Law graduates in every state in the US doing outstanding work,” says Dean Maureen A. O’Rourke. “I’m proud to see so many of our graduates receiving recognition for their achievements in the law.”
