👤Character Profiles (Warning- Spoilers Ahead!)👤
- Michael Scott: Michael Scott is not a good boss. It's harsh, but it's the truth. He is astoundingly childlike, brash, irresponsible, politically incorrect and very insensitive, treading the fine line between idiocy and ignorance. However, he has his moments of kindness, and you can tell he cares about his employees a lot. He just has a terrible way of showing it. Throught the show, Michael dates Jan, then dates and marries Holly.
- Jim Halpert: Jim doesn't want to sell paper. It was never his aspiration to work at Dunder Mifflin. In the beginning, he thought it would be a temporary gig. He didn't really care about what his life was like until he met Pam. The two were two peas in a pod and the rest is history. The office prankster, Jim loves making fun of and harassing Dwight. All in all, he's a pretty average person. He's also probably one of the sanest people in the office.
- Pam Beesly-Halpert: Like Jim, Pam also didn't dream of becoming a receptionist. However, that doesn't mean she's bad at her job. Everyone in the office goes to her for advice, and she's a pretty nice person. Her purpose is to make sure Michael is repressed of his , often to no avail. She also (obviously) has a crush on Jim, complicated by the fact that she's engaged. Yikes.
- Dwight Schrute: An extremely strange person. He sometimes doesn't pick up on social cues, but hey, who doesn't once in a while? Dwight is rude, a perfectionist, and hates almost everyone in the Office. He has his rare moments of kindness, but they are few and far in between. He will stop at nothing to rise the ranks at Dunder Mifflin, as Assistant to the Regional Manager. Dwight's bitter rivalry with Jim fills every episode with witty rapport, and he's probably the best character in The Office. Just saying.
- Kevin Malone: Kevin is a man of few words. Also known as Ashton Kutcher, he considers himself to be one of the sharper dressers in the Office. Kevin is constantly ridiculed by Angela, his co-worker, for being "slow", as she puts it. However, Kevin is a very intelligent person. He just needs to do math in terms of pie.
- Angela Martin: A bitter woman in the body of a thirty year old. Angela's obsessed with cats, and is extremely religious. She's mean, fiesty, and constantly puts down other people in the office. However, others bring out the best of her, and she can be a nice friend when it's necessary.
- Oscar Martinez: Oscar is a decent person. He's once of the smartest people in the office, and actually does his job. A bit of a know-it-all (in a good way) he often bears the brunt of Michael's insensitive jokes, seeing that he is gay and Hispanic, but is a hardworking, easy-going person.
- Stanley Hudson: Stanley doesn't care about much. In fact, the only reason he works at Dunder Mifflin is because he needs to pay for his daughter's private school. Stanley may be perpetually pissed off, but all he wants at the end of the day is to live alone in a lighthouse and enjoy his pretzels. Who can blame him?
- Phyllis Vance: Phyllis is the mother-figure of the Office. She's a very sweet older woman, and she likes knitting. In season 3, she marries Bob Vance of Vance Refridgeration. However, just because everyone sees her as a docile grandma doesn't mean she's not calculating and conniving.
- Andrew Bernard: What to say about Andy? He's larger than life in many aspects. He's a classic theater kid and always finds one way or another to sing while working. He went to Cornell (and brags about it a lot) and is also extremely preppy. He also has a rivalry with Dwight, and constantly tries to unseat him as Michael's right hand man.
- Creed Bratton: Creed is old. "He smells like death", as a perplexed Ryan puts it. He's just there in the Office, and it's implied that he has either committed crimes or committed multiple murders. However, that's the mystery that is Creed- we'll never know.
- Meredith Palmer: Meredith doesn't care about what others think. She speaks her mind, and when Michael is acting mean, she's not afraid to call him out for it. Michael is also the reason she drinks and "lives to forget", which, in retrospect, is a very ~sunny~ sentiment.
- Toby Flenderson: Toby is an extremely quiet and kind man. As an HR representative, he constantly gets on Michael's nerves. It doesn't help that he's also good at his job. He has an extremely big crush on Pam, that, unfortunately for him, is not reciprocated at all.Our of embarrasment, he goes on vacation to Costa Rica for a season. No one really notices him, and he lives a pretty normal life.
- Kelly Kapoor: Kelly is the resident teenage girl of the office. She talks a lot (to the displeasure of her co-workers) and loves to shop and talk on her phone. She also has an on-again off-again relationship with Ryan, which is very dysfunctional. She's good friends with Erin Hannon.
- Ryan Howard: Ryan is the temp. He's quasi-successful, having become VP of Northeast Sales at Dunder Mifflin then quickly being fired for doing crack. He's a classic case of the downsides to doing drugs. He thinks Kelly is annoying, but still pursues a relationship with her. All in all, he's a young guy who doesn't have his life figured out yet. And maybe that's not such a bad thing.
- Darryl Philbin: Darryl's a hard worker, smart and funny as well. As manager of the warehouse, he's in charge of all the warehouse workers and makes sure the shipments of paper go out on time. Michael likes to think he's friends with him, but in reality Darryl finds Michael irritating. Darryl's an easygoing guy- he's friends with Jim and Pam, and he's pretty popular. He also dated Kelly in seasons 4, 5, and 6, creating a pretty crazy love triangle between Kelly, Ryan, and Darryl. Even he can't escape the drama of the classic American workplace.
- Jan Levinson-Gould: In the beginning, Jan was a professional, successful woman as Vice President of Northeast Sales at Dunder Mifflin. Then she met Michael, and the train veered off the tracks. All her of her flaws began manifesting themselves in dangerous ways when she got with Michael. Michael and Jan's relationship was very dysfunctional, and neither of them were very happy with one another. Self destructive, Jan gets fired from her job after "a year of erratic behavior, improprieties and an impulsive breast augmentation" (NY Times).
- Holly Flax: After Toby breaks his neck in Costa Rica and can't return to work, Holly Flaw comes in as the new HR representative. Michael immediately falls for her, and in many ways she completes him. She's funny, smart and shares a lot of similarities to Michael. The eventually end up together and move to Colorado.
- Erin Hannon: Erin is goofy, sweet, and good-natured. After Pam gets promoted to saleswoman, Erin comes in as the new receptionist. She's good friends with Kelly, and is also friends with and later dates Andy Bernard. She's very similar to him in many respects, their relationship exemplifying the Jim-Pam phenomenom.
- Roy Anderson: Pam's fiance in the early seasons. Roy is tough and works in the warehouse. It's evident that Pam and Roy have a strained relationship, which is further complicated when Jim comes in the mix. In season 3, he and Jim have an altercation, which prompts Pam to end their engagement. They split amicably and Roy later gets married in season nine.
