Our Team
The Boston University Libraries strive to be vibrant centers of knowledge, sharing, discovery, and creation for every member of the BU community. Our library staff are essential to fulfilling this mission. Our teams of expert librarians, archivists, and information specialists support BU’s academic mission by designing and implementing innovative services, facilitating access to a wide range of scholarly resources, and providing research and instructional support to students and faculty across BU’s schools, colleges, and programs of study. Together, our teams create a library system that supports a robust research and learning agenda and a vibrant academic experience.
The BU Libraries have long been a trusted resource to our research community because we are continuously evolving to meet the emerging needs of our users across all disciplines. Librarians at BU lead by developing innovative information services that assist multidisciplinary research and exploration, building distinctive collections and archives of enduring research value, and empowering users to thrive amid an ever-changing information environment. The BU Libraries are a focal point of the University’s BU2030 Strategic Plan, and its initiatives provide staff with meaningful opportunities to not only meet the current moment, but also lead for years to come.
Our commitment to growth and learning starts with our staff and we encourage collaboration and learning among an expansive professional peer group. Library staff at BU are supported in their professional development and in efforts to seek and share knowledge, practices, and perspectives that advance library services. They actively participate in regional and national professional organizations and leadership forums and serve as thought leaders on a wide breadth of library management and service areas across diverse communities.
