Exploring educational databases

March 20th, 2020

in Pickering Educational Resources Library

With the children out of school due the COVID-19 outbreak, many teachers and parents are finding the time is right for locating online lesson plans.  So many are sharing their resources and time via social media as well: check out kids’ author Mo Willem’s lunch doodles!

Our Pickering Library education research guides also have some Lesson Plans and Activities listed within the Websites section included on each guide.

In addition, for the Boston University community there are more than 30 great databases for education research available through the Pickering Library:

  • major education news sources like Education Week and the Chronicle of Higher Education;
  • streaming video sources like Academic Video Online,  KanopyHistoryMakers: African American Video Oral History Collection, and Sign Language Acquisition;
  • research literature discovery tools such as APA PsycINFO, SPORTDiscus, and Social Sciences Citation Index.

Unsure about which to choose?  You can visit the education databases page, hover your cursor over one of the ‘i’ icons next to the database name, and you’ll get a brief description.  You can also Ask A Librarian.
