Prof. Judith Lok wins 2025 Mosteller Statistician of the Year Award

Professor Judith Lok has been named the recipient of the 2025 Mosteller Statistician of the Year Award by the
Boston Chapter of the American Statistical Association.

This award recognizes a distinguished statistician who has made exceptional contributions to the field of statistics and who has performed outstanding service to the statistical community. Professor Lok has made pioneering contributions to the theory of causal inference, developed the new Learn-As-you-GO (LAGO) method for clinical trial designs, and carried out important research for Structural Nested Mean Models, as well as for applications to HIV/AIDS modeling, survival analysis, mediation
analysis, and maternal & neonatal outcomes.

The President of the Boston Chapter of the ASA, Dr. Jianchang Lin, wrote that Professor Lok’s “work has truly set a benchmark of excellence and exemplified the legacy of Dr. Fred Mosteller.”
