MCH Alumnae Honored at the 25th Annual Networking and Alumni Reception

The Boston University School of Public Health Center of Excellence in Maternal and Child Health (MCH CoE) celebrated the 2025 recipients of the BUSPH/MCH Alumnae Award for Outstanding Service to Individuals and Families in the MCH Community on Tuesday, April 1st, following the Dean of Public Health Conversation,“Birthing and Raising the Next Generation.”
This year, Sharon Callender, MPH (‘97), BSN, RN, Lola Akintobi, MPH (‘16), and Ann Peralta, DrPH (‘22), MPH (’12) were announced as the 2025 recipients.

Each award was presented by their respective mentors: Lois McCloskey, clinical professor of community health sciences, and director to the MCH CoE; Eugene DeClercq, professor of community health sciences at SPH and obstetrics & gynecology at BU’s Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine; and Candice Belanoff, clinical associate professor of community health sciences and director of the Community Assessment, Program Design, Implementation and Evaluation (CAPDIE) certificate program.
