Virtual Labs

MET Virtual Labs provide access to a scalable, flexible, and securely managed pool of individual virtual Windows desktops hosted and managed by MET IT.

We offer two types of Virtual Labs:

  • Open VLabs – Default virtual desktop space containing software for MET courses
  • Course-Specific VLabs – Special virtual desktop spaces containing course specific software

Gaining Access

  1. Instructors should complete the Virtual Lab Request form prior to start of their course.
  2. Based on the information provided in the form, the following actions will occur:
    1. Open VLabs – If no special software is required, MET IT will grant access to the students and notify the instructor.
    2. Course-Specific VLabs – If special software is required, MET IT will set up a meeting to gather further information before creating a unique virtual desktop space.
