Teaching Studios

MET teaching studios at 1010 Commonwealth Avenue are designed for classes, orientations, and large events. All audio & visual equipment in this space is MET IT supported and operated. When submitting your request, please ensure you include information on your audio/visual needs. Both spaces are available for reservation and use Monday through Thursday from 9 am to 9 pm, as well as Friday and Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm. The studios are closed Sundays, Holidays, during BU Intersession and Spring Break.

Please use the Teaching Studio Request Form to submit a request to use the room. Please note that all requests will be reviewed by the MET Dean’s Office and submitting a request does not guarantee its availability for use. Please anticipate at least 3 business days to receive a reply for the request.

Uses:

  • Face-to-Face Meetings (No Technology Needed)
  • Face-to-Face w/Multi-Media Presentations (Laptop & Display Screen(s))
  • Hybrid Events & Classes (Laptop, Conference PC, Webcam, Microphone, Presentation Display, Gallery View Web Conference Display)


Standard Hybrid Class Support Includes:

30 min prior to class start a MET IT Technician will:

  • Configure Room System for Zoom Live Classroom
  • Connect Conference PC
  • Test Room Microphone & Speakers
  • Calibrate Front Facing Camera

15 min prior to class start:

  • Connect Instructor Laptop to in-room displays & Zoom Screen Share

Equipment:

  • One Samsung TV/Display Screen
  • One Panasonic Interactive Pen Display
  • Air Media and HDMI Connection for in-room displays
  • Conference PC to manage A/V system and remote audience
  • Two Ceiling Mounted Panasonic Web Cameras (Instructor Facing or Student Facing)
  • Two Ceiling Mounted Microphones

Occupancy Limit:

  • Room 101: 48 People (Classroom Setup – Tables & Chairs), 65 People (Chairs only)
  • Room 122: 48 People (Classroom Setup – Tables & Chairs), 49 (Chairs only)
