Position:
Center for Policing Equity
Position Title:
Data Analyst
Responsibilities:
I analyze data from police jurisdictions to identify racial disparities in their policing practices and help inform policy changes and public safety redesign. This includes meeting with clients, forming analysis plans, running the analyses, creating visualizations, designing surveys, and many other random tasks.
Favorite Aspect:
I love working for an organization that centers Black and Brown and other vulnerable communities. We’re at a pivotal moment for racial justice in the U.S. right now, and I’m proud to be a small part of a movement that aims to end policing as we know it.
Advice to Current Students:
Pursue your interests! Statistics can be applied to so many different fields, so don’t hesitate to explore different opportunities to find a role that really excites you. And if you find yourself in a role that isn’t the right fit for you, it’s okay to leave and try something new.
