Neuroscience & BU Hub

All freshmen Neuroscience majors entering Boston University in or after Fall 2018 must complete the Neuroscience course requirements (17 courses), BU Hub requirements (26 units fulfilled through 10-12 courses), and CAS foreign language requirements (fourth semester proficiency). The BU Hub comprises six broad capacities, each containing more specific areas (for example, the capacity “Scientific and Social Inquiry” contains the areas “Scientific Inquiry I”, “Scientific Inquiry II”, and “Scientific or Social Inquiry II”). You must complete 1-2 units in each area, as indicated below. For example, under the capacity “Diversity, Civic Engagement, and Global Citizenship”, you must complete two units in the area “Global Citizenship and Intercultural Literacy”. This means you must take two courses that have been approved towards this particular Hub area. Note that normal courses approved for the BU Hub can count toward up to 3 Hub areas, while laboratory classes can be approved for up to 4.

To explore courses further, please see the Bulletin. You can also use the BU Course Search to search the entire database of Boston University courses by keywords, and you can filter your search by semester, by college, and/or by Hub area(s).
